Needle roller bearings are roller bearings with cylindrical rollers. Compared to their diameter, the rollers are both thin and long, and this type of roller is called needle roller. According to the model table of needle roller bearings, there are three types of needle roller bearings: needle roller bearings without inner rings, needle roller bearings with inner rings, stamped outer ring needle roller bearings, and fully loaded needle roller bearings. Based on our understanding of the installation methods of these different types of needle roller bearings, we will inform you of the specific installation methods for different types of needle roller bearings.
Installation method of fully loaded needle roller bearings
1. When installing fully loaded needle roller bearings, auxiliary sleeves are used;
2. The auxiliary roller or auxiliary sleeve supports the rolling needle to prevent it from falling out, and the shaft neck lifts the rolling needle up with its own chamfer;
3. As the needle roller bearing slowly moves inward on the shaft neck, the auxiliary roller or auxiliary sleeve slowly exits until it is installed in the working position.
4. The outer diameter of the auxiliary roller and auxiliary sleeve should be 0.1-0.3mm smaller than the shaft diameter. When installing, first apply lubricating grease to the inner surface of the bearing outer ring, and place the rolling needle tightly against the inner surface (leaving a gap when placing the last rolling needle).
5. Then push the auxiliary roller or auxiliary sleeve that replaces the journal or bearing inner ring into the outer ring hole, and align its end face with the installation shaft end face or the bearing inner ring end face already installed on the shaft,
Then use a press or hammer to apply pressure.
Installation method of needle roller bearings
1. Apply a thin layer of lubricating oil to the outer diameter of the auxiliary sleeve, insert it into the outer ring of the bearing, so that the auxiliary sleeve and the outer ring of the bearing form an annular hole, and then install the needle roller in the annular hole.
2. After installing the needle roller, use the working shaft to push out the auxiliary sleeve.
Installation method of needle roller bearings without inner or outer rings
1. During installation, a thin layer of lubricating grease can be applied to the rolling surface of the shaft or housing hole, and the rolling pins can be sequentially pressed against the lubricating grease at the installation site.
2. When placing the last needle roller, there should be a gap of 0.5mm around the circumference of the needle roller bearing.
3. The last needle roller cannot be forcefully inserted or missing one needle roller, as the bearing will get stuck and unable to rotate during hard extrusion;
4. When installed sparingly, excessive clearance can easily cause the rolling pins to twist and break during bearing operation.
Installation method of stamping outer ring needle roller bearing
1. Due to the thin outer ring wall, needle roller bearings should not be installed by tapping with a hammer, but should be pressed in using a press.
2. Because the pressure is uneven when struck with a hammer, it is easy to cause local deformation of the outer ring of the needle roller bearing.
Reminder: Needle roller bearings have a high load-bearing capacity and are suitable for supporting structures with limited installation dimensions. The journal surface is hardened as the rolling surface, and the bearing is fitted into the seat hole with a press fit, without the need for axial positioning. Before installation, an appropriate amount of lubricating grease should be injected into the bearing. Normally, BK type bearings do not need to be lubricated again after assembly. They are used for supporting shafts without protruding ends, and the end face is sealed to provide a sealing effect and can withstand small axial movements.
